Located in downtown Edgemont, South Dakota, the Trails, Trains & Pioneers Museum traces the ebb and flow of life of the Southern Black Hills from pre-historic times to the present.

A Rich And Varied Past

The Edgemont Area Historical Society began in 2005 and maintains the Trails, Trains and Pioneers Museum. Our goal is to keep the voices of the past alive for present and future generations.

Rooms & Exhibits

With 6 different themed rooms of exhibits, explore the history of Edgemont and the Southern Black Hills from the Stone Age to the Atomic Age and beyond.

Historic Artifacts

We have items that reflect both the "Boom" and "Bust" years of our area, from when rail was king to when uranium glowed.

We look forward to seeing you!

Located on Main Street at Mile Marker 0 of the Mickelson Trailhead, the Trails, Trains, and Pioneers Museum is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, or by appointment.
